HISTORY

The neck and décolletage areas present a significant aesthetic concern for many women. After the delicate eye area, the neck and décolletage are the most prone areas to show signs of ageing compared to other parts of the body.

The factors that cause ageing on the neck and decolletage area can be due to: excessive sun exposure and neglected skin care; the neck contains far less elastin fibres compared to the face, resulting in a weaker supporting structure to the dermis; the neck also lacks fatty structures to give extra support to the less elastic skin; gravity which forces the top breast to drop further past the body’s midline than it should; wearing sports and push-up bras, which push the breasts together and worsening the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.

The skin on the neck and décolletage is thinner than that on the arms and legs and tends to get a lot of sun exposure resulting in sun spots and other signs of ageing.

FAQ

This programme is ideal for anyone concerned or noticing the signs of ageing on the neck and décolletage area, but it can also be used to prevent ageing.

The neck and décolletage programme is designed to rejuvenate and reduce signs of ageing. Based on your skin concerns and goals treatments recommended may include:

  • Botox injections to reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Exilis Radio Frequency to stimulate collagen and tighten the skin
  • Profhilo to boost hydration and reduce laxity in the skin
  • PRP to stimulate tissue repair and encourage the skin to build more collagen and elastin
  • Carboxytherapy to encourage blood circulation and skin regeneration
  • Chemical peels to reduce the signs of sun damage with wrinkling and irregular pigmentation, and to improve skin surface and texture
  • Mesotherapy to nourish, stimulate and protect skin cells

Many of the treatments listed work best synergistically, so it is useful to explore the option of combination treatments.

Common side effects with these rejuvenating treatments may include slight bruising, swelling, redness, and discomfort at the treatment site. These side effects typically dissipate within few days after each neck and décolletage rejuvenation treatment.

After the treatments you will be recommended to:

  • Avoid sun exposure to the treated area for at least 1 week and apply daily an SPF30+ which has UVA & UVB protection;
  • Avoid any heat treatments for 48 hours such as a sauna, steam and hot showers;
  • Avoid swimming and excessive exercise for 24 hours;
  • Avoid any other deeply exfoliating treatments on the area for 1 week such as a chemical peel or microdermabrasion.

Depending on your skin concerns, your specialist will recommend the number of sessions and the frequency.
